This week’s activity was sketching in the Japanese Garden. Simply walking into the garden already made me feel very peaceful. At first, it was hard to find a spot to sit down and draw because every angle looked so complicated; however, the weeping trees caught my attention. I really liked the long dramatic leaves that are hanging down. This activity was very difficult for me because I am not very good at drawing. I always tend use an eraser because it’s not “perfect” enough but this activity did not allow me to do that. It was also hard to capture what I see and draw it on to paper. In the end, my sketches looked nothing similar to what I was looking at. Although I was stressed out, the atmosphere of the Japanese Garden was very relaxing.
